How much does a website cost?

That’s a tricky question. What do you want your website to do? How much information is on it? How customised does it need to be? The answers to those questions go a long way to helping us form a good idea of what your website will cost.

We don’t say $X for a five page website because our experience tell us that doesn’t allow for enough discovery and wiggle room in a project. We find that most clients spend $5,000-$7000 on blog/portfolio websites and upwards of $8,000 on ecommerce websites for their website design and development.

This does not include copywriting, which is a project must unless you are an experience web copywriter or marketer.

How many pages will my website need?

This kinda has the same vibe as above – what do you need your website to do? How much information will it have? Also, pages are not the only way of organising information as you have blog and product categories, sub pages, forms and schemas to think about too.

This is why we love to chat about a project and organise your information first.

How long does it take to build a website?

The time it takes to produce a website depends on the size and complexity of your site and the quality of content that you have ready to go.

No content = no website.

A basic website typically takes around 10 weeks from beginning to end IF you have all your content ready to roll.

Do I need my own domain name and web hosting?

Yes, we can help you get this set up and we can work with your existing provider. We don’t offer hosting of any kind.

We will not build on GoDaddy hosted sites because we cannot guarantee any level of performance. We work with Siteground and have found them to be outstanding in every way.

Will my website work on mobile devices?

Yes it will. All the websites we design work on all devices. We generally design for three screen sizes (mobile, tablet and desktop).

Do you do design and develop ecommerce/Online Store websites?

Absolutely! We work in WordPress and Woocommerce to deliver super customisable, fully client owned (betchya didn’t know that some platforms don’t confer ownership when you build there?), SEO ready, fast and beautiful ecommerce setups.

Do you provide training on how to use my website?

Yes, all our lovely clients with one hour’s training on maintaining their website. You will get a video of your training session and a video manual installed on your site for easy reference.

Why do you use WordPress?

WordPress is open source content management software and currently powers around 34% of all websites on the Internet. The project is contributed to by tens of thousands of developers all over the world and is growing from strength to strength. WordPress allows me to develop flexible and customisable websites to modern standards and observes web development best practices. Furthermore the community of web developers that use WordPress reaches far and wide and allows us to tap in to this collective intelligence and bring that wealth of experience to your project. Good stuff.
